Shred & E-Cycling Event

Huntington Federal Savings Bank Sponsors May 18th Shred & E-Cycling Event
Event offers free access to secure commercial shredding services and electronics disposal

Huntington, W.Va. – Businesses and individuals from across the region are invited to participate in a free Shred & E-Cycle event – taking place from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, at the Marshall University parking lot (corner of 3rd Ave. and 16th Street/Hal Greer Blvd.). Huntington Federal Savings Bank is sponsoring the BBB® Charitable & Educational Fund, Inc.’s event.

Participants are invited to bring old credit card statements, credit card offers, medical papers, IRS tax records, and other sensitive documents with personal information, for onsite commercial shredding.

“We’re providing this important service so both individuals and businesses can prevent possible identity theft,” stated Matthew Wagner, president and CEO of Huntington Federal Savings Bank. “By offering the opportunity to have documents commercially shredded, we’re helping the public to be empowered to protect their confidential information.”

Electronic devices may also be dropped off for E-cycling during the event. Accepted electronics include: non-alkaline batteries; CDs; cell phones; computer keyboards and components; ink and toner cartridges; speakers; televisions and other items. Tube-style monitors and fluorescent light bulbs may also be submitted for E-cycling with payment of a nominal disposal fee that ranges from $1 to $5.

For all other shredding and E-cycling services, there is no charge. Monetary donations, however, to the BBB® Charitable and Educational Fund, Inc. are welcomed and appreciated to help support similar events in the future.
